DINING FOR EVERYONE

Having a difficult time deciding what to make for dinner? Well, the decision may not be any easier by going out . You will have to decide which of the more than 102 restaurants or 18 cafe’s to patronize.

Cape May has a reputation for being New Jersey’s dining capital, which is mainly due to its wealth of fine dining and other eateries.  Many, but not all, of the restaurants are BYOB, which is nice because you can bring your favorite wine and save  some money at the same time. Below are a few of the many dining establishments  we have visited and recommend.

Black Duck on Sunset Restaurant

Although this restaurant is located in West Cape May and is too far to walk to from Cape May HideAway, it is well worth the very short drive.  The restaurant has off street parking.  With all the restaurants in Cape May, we have been making an effort to not patronize the same restaurant twice until we  try many of them.  With that said, temptation sometimes wins out and we find ourselves at Black Duck and have never left disappointed.   For more information, visit their website at: http://blackduckonsunset.com/

Peter Shields Restaurant

Peter Shields Restaurant  has it all. ….award winning menu…great location……wonderful atmosphere…..caring wait staff. Want to celebrate  a special occasion or impress someone very special?   This  restaurant should be a top contender.  For more information, view their website at http://www.petershieldsinn.com

Sapore Italiano

Another restaurant located in West Cape May  that is too far to walk to from Cape May HideAway but is well worth the very short drive is Sapore Italiano. The restaurant has off street parking but it is tight. We opted to park a few blocks away, which was a good choice because we could walk off some of the fantastic food we ate. The pasta served is homemade and is EXCELLENT! For more information, visit their website   at:  http://www.saporeitalianorestaurant.com

Union Park Restaurant

Although, like many other restaurants we enjoyed and plan on going back to again, we have only dined at this restaurant once. However, we were so impressed with the restaurant , we bought gift cards for our children and their spouses to enable them to  enjoy this restaurant.  For more information, visit their website at:http://www.unionparkdiningroom.com/

Lobster House

Probably the most famous restaurant in Cape May. If you have a casual conversation and mention Cape May, the Lobster House  will undauntedly be mentioned.  Diners have the choice of a formal meal in their dining room or as a take out meal ordered in their seafood market. Outside seating is available along the harbor. For more information, visit their website at http://thelobsterhouse.com/home/

Fins Bar and Grille

Want good food in a relaxed environment?  Have a drink and a meal at Fins. Visiting outside of beach season? Enjoy a seat next to the fireplace.  For good reasons, this is a popular downtown bar and eatery. For more information, visit their website at http://www.finscapemay.com/

C-View Inn

One of the best kept secrets in Cape May because the locals want to keep it that way.  Thanks to our good neighbor, he let us in on the secret. This eatery serves some of  the best bar food around. The wings are out of this world.

Coffee Tyme

If you are in the mood for some really good coffee, hot or iced, or a fabulous latte , you need to visit Coffee Tyme at one of their locations in Cape May, Whether it is for your morning coffee , an afternoon pick me up or an evening refreshment, their beverages hit the spot. For more information visit their facebook page at:https://www.facebook.com/CoffeeTymeNJ/

These are only a few of many eateries we had a wonderful experience at. We were fortunate enough to take a food tour and tried out some restaurants we did not know about or never thought to try.
